Hidden Cafes and Alleyways

I went on the blog and found the coolest notification waiting for me… I have 100 followers now! Well, actually, 101! And for that reason I wanted to make this post and say thank you, to you.

I started this blog to explore my writing, to help others navigate the beauty of the international world, and to put pen to paper for my storytelling. That was in 2016 and slowly, even after a law school/covid hiatus, the blog has naturally grown along with myself.

This started off as a vegan travel blog, “for the happily lost and forever searching”. I am no longer vegan, as of a few months ago, after 15 years of doing the planty life. And although I am still happy, I do consider myself to be found and not lost. Through my own spiritual journey as well as the teachings of the late Thich Nhat Hanh and other spiritual texts and practices, and performance art, I have found joy in being.

I have gone from writing, twirling my pen to and fro with my thoughts, to a speaker on stage in NYC in the form of poetry, rap, storytelling, standup comedy, and monologues. The effect has been immeasurable as live performances increased my confidence and sense of self, strengthened my writing, and helped me find community.

It is from the bottom of my heart that I say I appreciate everyone following along this journey as I navigate being a young attorney in New York City and building my own company while being true to my artistic vision. The blog has expanded from exclusively travel and cafes to now poetry and history. I am excited to see where it goes, and invite whoever is ready to come along with me on this journey.
